Doljatra or Holi :

Doljatra is one of the main festivals celebrated in West Bengal. Holiday is announced by the government to celebrate the auspicious festival of Holi. this year it comes on 2nd march, 2018.

Pohela Baisakh :

Every year on the 14th day of April or someday around that, Bengalis come together to mark the auspicious beginning of the Bengali New Year. It is during the same time during which Punjab’s Baisakhi is celebrated. It is according to the Tarikh-e-Elahi calendar. Unfortunately this year no holiday for this festival as it comes on sunday.

Durga Puja :

This is more than a week long holiday starting from Mahalaya and ending with Lakshmi Puja. Right from the beginning of Mahalaya, Goddess Durga is worshipped in West Bengal with great devotion till Dusshera. Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals ever cherished in this land.

Kali Puja:

Another big festival, which is celebrated in West Bengal which falls during the time of Diwali. About a week-long festival is announced by the government for celebrating Kali Puja.
